Literacy and numeracy early learning can be socially conveyed through a variety of situations and approaches. Children I believe are each individual and will convey their early learning through there own way depending on what they have been brought up around in regards to what they learn and adapt from those experiences. I have chosen a film clip, which I found on you tube to give an example of a young 2-year-old girl singing ‘Someone like you’ by Adele. Within this video the girl is singing along with the song, which she has obviously been able to learn the rhythm of the song and some of the words. The young girl does not know all of the words however I have observed that the courses, which is repetitive, she knows the best. This child shows a significant amount of her literacy early learning, which she has developed. I believe music is a great way to show a child’s literacy learning, as most children will be brought up from birth with music. Weather it is songs suitable for there age or there family members music which they listen to, however the song which is played the most or which has a catchy beat to it, will attract the child’s attention. The young girl shows great expression through her facial expression and tone of her voice. She shows a significant amount of enthusiasm while singing the song and she expresses the different tones of the song through a higher and lower level of her voice. Through this is shows her levels of literacy as she has identified words, rhythm and how to pronounce the words. Even though she does have difficulties with some words she will still continue to mumble the words, which is still a level of literacy learning. Each child will take a different approach to there learning and will express there early learning in a different manner. This child has shown a lot of confidence through expressing her literacy by singing a song.
