The influence of perceptual-sensorial,
memory, representational-symbolic and communicative-linguistics thinking
towards a young child’s early learning of numeracy and literacy can be enhanced
through the use of resources. A suggested resource, which can appear in our
life’s on a daily basis and more occurring in a young child’s life which is
code breaking. Code breaking is I will provide an example of a code breaker,
which I have developed, for young children. Code breaking creates a challenge
for young children, which can have a positive influence on the young child’s
literacy and numeracy earl learning. As code breaking can finish with a reward,
it can encourage the young children to complete it and to feel the satisfaction
once they have solved the code. A code
can be used to complete a picture, a word and number sequences. It allows
educators and family members to be as creative as they wish to be and to suit
the child’s literacy and numeracy learning levels.
I have created below a simple code breaking
activity for a young child possibly suitable for aged 2-3 year olds.

Code breaking challenges the young child’s
thinking which can have an influence on the child’s communicative-linguistic
thinking and representational-symbolic. Code breaking can be a use full tool to
enhance the numeracy and literacy learning as it can help the children to
understand and developed the knowledge of number sequence, alphabet and
obviously different words.
